Publication development: Dummy Hot-dog books

I am really interested in creating a publication that reaches out to the audience and engages them on a different level. A way of achieving this could be an interactive publication, immersing the reader and hopefully enabling them to have an "experience" whilst understanding the messages/issues conveyed.

Rorschach Test: Concept Notes

Conceptual research:

Artwork compositions / layout similar to the Rorschach pattern / print / image

Could develop this concept further and create artwork where scenes / main subject / focal point is illustrated out of and "within" the details and ink blots of my own Rorschach experiments

Could have a whole collection

Could tell a story this way (in terms of the book I have to create)

Illustrating and exploring our consciousness - conveying it through the test sheets themselves. As if the person reading the book is taking the Rorschach test for themselves and receiving their results first hand - as well as seeing the hidden meaning / message / story within the book.

- could be a book where each double page spread has a Rorschach illustration.

Somehow convey an illustrated highly detailed / mixed media / paper cut ??? Version of what "normal people" generally saw (according to my market research and what my internet research says in terms of the general original tests and results found out)

vs a highly illustrated version

Black and white for the "normal" illustrated version of the image within/between the ink blot lines (or just the original colours used on the original slide test for the normal response ones)

 vs

Full bleed crazy neon colours for the common but crazy illustrated version of the response

Paper cut page slide and reveal idea:

The page would be constructed like a pocket. The outer page would be illustrated and cut away/ layerd with different foils / mixed media to covey the first slide of the Rorschach test (either the original or my own).

**key note:

Could do a book for both - the illustrated original Rorschach test and then another book for my own version of the Rorschach test based on my own research using them (most common response vs most common but weird / unusual response)

***

The outer page is to convey an illustrated / exaggerated / engaging version of what the most common and most "normal " response to the test slide would be (bat, face, moth etc...-and somehow revel what this means if the person sees this

Could have different notches on the pully tab pulling out the page. Each pulled out step reveals the new thing illustrated within the image - (from cut away windows in the out bound pocket pages) slowly becoming clear as the tab is pulled / twizzled / pulled and illuminated and the main focal point of the composition. Each step would be a different colour scheme (back and white for normal un revealed outer Rorschach illustration, then another for the illustration revealed when page is interacted with in some way.

Transition. Normal to not normal and what each stage means for the person .

How does this relate to our Conciousness my essay and COP and everything?

Any studies about people doing Rorschach under the influence of psychedelics? Obviously this doesn't have to link to my essay directly so don't worry about it being a step away from my essay topic

Ok so no OUTER POCKET ILLUSTRATION as such-SHOULD BE MY OWN TRANSCRIPTION OF THE ORIGINAL INK BLOT SLIDES. NOT ILLUSTRATED OR MANIPULATED AT ALL, just a copy done in a cool unique way but clear somehow-CAN ASK PEOPLE TO LOOK AT PAGE and take the test (in the text of the book somehow-maybe just display instructions in a clever design in the book on one page or cover somehow-bold, simple, clear, like a test but cooler )AND HOLD ON TO THE FIRST THING THEY SEE in their mind. ONCE THEY HAVE IT THEY CAN PULL/TURN THE TAB AND REVEAL EACH COMMON RESPONSE TO THE TEST AND DISPLAY IN THE TEXT now revealed WHAT EACH response MEANS FOR THE VIEWER OF WHO SAW THAT ORIGINALLY. EACH ILLUSTRATION WITHIN and being revels FULL BLEED ILLUSTRATION / papercut/mixed media but different from eachother somehow. Outer would be the original colours of the test (red and black?)

Then somehow revealed or within the pocket page is a slip of card illustrated so that when pulled - their image is revealed through windows in each layer sitting above

Manipulating and morphing the original outer Rorschach into each of the different responses. Each illustrated/papercut to make each version of the response as clear and interesting and pleasing as possible

The outer pocket page doesn't have to be printed at all - it could be just paper cut at a high level of detail and quality - each cut area making up the original "normal" slide of the original test and when all tabs are closed (have a closed position of the slide within with black ink like areas to show through the out pocket cut widows and make up the first step of the test compositionally so that the reader can start the test, then another slide somewhere else pulls open the next response of the test and its explanation etc. Opens more Windows to reveal a new morph of the Rorschach?

Could have separate pullys/ revealing paper engineered mechanisms for each response being revealed for that slide. Each tab could then have the indovidual response info on it. Pullys around each edge of page? Works for the page beneath as well? Double sided printed page slip within the pocket so can be used for both sides in book.

Make each artwork really appealing and unique

Highly detailed slides

Could each layer be acetate somehow?
Does this help make it more aesthetic / unique?

What is the mechanism for this pully pocket page thing?

How will I print it / construct it?

>>What is the message within each slide and what does the normal / weird response mean to the person taking my "test" by reading the book. Tell the story somehow , revel the facts and make it relevant, relatable, and engaging to the reader so that they learn something about themselves and other from the illustrations

How helpful / good / medically regarded are these Rorschach tests?

What is the goal of someone taking the test? What is it to find out? Meaning behind book?
-think about this when thinking of a title for this book.

MARKET RESEARCH:

Do my own market research and tests on people using the original ink blot slides, as well as a separate test using just my own

Is this successful?

My illustrated Interactive version of the original test vs my own version?

Think about printing and production
The audience experience
Make it clear
Push the boundaries of what a "book"can be...format, concept, construction, engineering, illustration media

Connect to audience because they are engaging with the book and want to know their results and what this means for them!

How can the test be manipulated?
How does this link with all I have done do COP2 so far

My findings vs original Rorschach test findings

Animate / gif my artwork transitions
Ebook? Taking the book that one step further

Each paper cut out of the individual Rorschach blot on each page acts as a "window to your consciousness"

Do these build up a psychological portrait of someone? How can I creatively illustrate this? Rorschach portrait / morph of the blot

OUIL501 Contextual Research:

EVENT DESCRIPTION

"This Public Program event is the first evening presentation of the inaugural year of the CIIS Certificate on Psychedelic-Assisted Therapies and Research, a program designed for those already trained as therapists, medical professionals, clergy, and chaplains. Robert Jesse (CSP, Johns Hopkins, Usona) will offer the evening's keynote introduction. It will be followed by discussion among a panel of esteemed counselors and clinicians. The panelists represent diverse views on traditional and contemporary uses of psychedelics, the various roles of psychedelic guides, and what constitutes "integration" of psychedelic experiences. They will describe their therapeutic approaches in jurisdictions where the use of a psychedelic is legal. What similarities and distinctions do they see among healing, the betterment of well people, and esoteric forms of spiritual exploration and development? When non-dual experiences occur in therapy, would people who lack a cartography (for example as imparted by a mystical wisdom tradition) be disadvantaged in their integration? If so, how can a suitable framework be developed? Looking ahead to expanded legal use, what practices do the panelists see as complementing psychedelic therapy, and why? After this, Robert and the panel will address questions from the audience.

Robert Jesse is convenor of the Council on Spiritual Practices (CSP). Through CSP, he was instrumental in forming the psilocybin research team at Johns Hopkins, he is a co-author of its first paper (2006), "Psilocybin can occasion mystical-type experiences having substantial and sustained personal meaning and spiritual significance", and he is one of the team's co-investigators. Bob now serves on the board of Usona Institute and is an advisor to CIIS. In 2005, he led the writing of an amicus brief for the U.S. Supreme Court in a key religious liberty case that was decided 8-0, favoring the U.S. branch of the Brazilian church, the UniĆ£o do Vegetal. Prior to CSP, Bob worked as a consultant in information technology for AT&T Bell Labs and others, then in several capacities for Oracle Corporation, lastly as a vice president of business development. His university training is in computer science and electrical engineering."

Research: MAPS - Psychedelics and PTSD

MAPS Study - MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy
http://www.maps.org/research/mdma

Revew & key notes

1/3 of people with PTSD do not find a restitution for their PTSD. This is known as chronic treatment resistant PTSD and is what MAPS is trying to tackle with MDMA assisted psychotherapy. studies have shown very positive results. 83% of patients involved in the study no longer qualify as having PTSD.

In MDMA psychotherapy the patients only take the medicine (MDMA) 3 times, whereas conventional medicine is required to be taken every day.

This research looks at the safety AND efficacy of MDMA.

The research is reaching stage 3 which is the final stage of trails before the medicine can be available to the general public. Stage 3 will begin in 2017 and will be rolled out to 400 patients in a clinical trail environment.

Note to self: research into the effects of psychoactive drugs on creativity and artistic creativity is unlikely to go ahead before research into the benefits of these drugs on psychotherapy are concluded. i.e its the next step.

Relevance

Further investigation into a class a substance, aiding progressing into mental health and sciences. this could link to my CoP project showing the unlocked potential of banned substances.

The only way we can truly know if a substance does harm or good across the entire spectrum of possibilities, is by investigating into it. this research cannot be carried out unless its legal to do so, and mad available to medical sciences. only with further research into these banned psychoactive drugs could we see further potential in terms of creativity and conciseness

Research: Erowid .org

Erowid.org

Description
Erowid.org is a non-profit organization that provides education on and  information about psychoactive plants, fungi, and substances. The organisation documents both legal and illegal substances, including their intended and adverse effects. Erowid gathers its information from diverse sources including published literature, experts in related fields, and the experiences of the general public. The site acts as a publisher of new information as well as a library for the collection of documents and images published elsewhere. It is widely used by academics and the general public as a reference for information

Relevance to topic
Erowid is the largest online source of compiled information on psychoactive substances and plants. It is widely respected as a reputable source for this information and as stated above it gathers its information from a wealth of diverse sources, some of which are published academic/scientific papers. This means that the information contained in this site is trustworthy and reliable, making it an ideal reference for my essay and CoP topics.

Research: Maps Article: LSD - Assisted Psychotherapy

MAPS study into LSD-Assisted psychotherapy
http://www.maps.org/research/psilo-lsd
Interesting quotes

"Our completed Phase 2 pilot study in 12 subjects found positive trends in the reduction of anxiety following two LSD-assisted psychotherapy sessions. The study results also indicate that LSD-assisted psychotherapy can be safely administered in these subjects, and justify further research."

"LSD is known for its ability to catalyze spiritual or mystical experiences and to facilitate feelings of interconnection. MAPS is interested in these substances for their potential to help people with a variety of conditions, focusing primarily on the treatment of anxiety associated with life-threatening illness, as well as for spiritual uses, creativity, and personal growth."

Relevance

Further investigation into LSD, aiding progression into mental health and psychotherapy. This could link to my CoP project showing the possible applications of LSD in non recreational settings.

Research: Marbling

Example of large scale marbling technetium. Creates a beautiful marbled sheet. I would love to try this one day.

This artworks certainly has a psychedelic aesthetic, however does the concept behind it encompass psychedelic belief and theology? Psychedelic art doesnt always look psychedelic, sometimes it does.

"Researchers noticed higher doses correlated with more positive effects and that at the highest dose, 30mg/70kg, 78 percent of the subjects reported having experienced on of the top five most spiritually significant events of their lives, though the reported moments of anxiety, fear, and stress increased by six times.
The second highest dose, 20 mg/70kg, resulted in only one of the volunteers reporting any negative experiences and all volunteers reporting positive experiences and the lowest dose used for the study, 5 mg/70 kg, demonstrated discernible and long-lasting positive effects on behavior, attitude and overall outlook. So much so that even friends and family members of the volunteers were able to notice the changes."

Research shows that dosage plays a large roll in the effects and outcome of ones psychedelic experience - in this case psilocybin (magic mushrooms)

Relevance
As i stated in regards to the MAPS MDMA and LSD studys, progress into the medicinal and thereputic benefits of these substances could, in turn, lead to more research into the creative and artistic benefits of said substances.

Hotdog books & research

Hot dog/single sheet book

How to make a hotdog book

Source: http://www.makingbooks.com/hotdog.shtml

1. Fold the paper in half the long way, like a hot dog.

2. Open the paper and fold it in half the short way, like a hamburger.

3. Take one layer of paper, flip the edge back to meet the fold, and crease.

4. Turn the paper over, flip the edge of the paper back to meet the fold, and crease.

5. Place the paper on the table so that you see a W when you look at the end.

6. Cut the center of the W along the center fold. You'll be cutting through two layers of paper and stopping at the cross fold.

7. With your wrists above your fingers, hold the two halves of the hot dog from the top.

8. Turn your wrists to the sides. You will have an open book with four sections.

9. Bring three of the sections together. Fold the last section on top of the other three so that you have a flat book.

"Are you Wavy?" - Ideas for Survey

"Feeling Wavy?" or "Are You Wavy?" - title of survey???

When thinking about the survey I want to roll out and the kind of research/response I want to gain from the audience / people who partake, I have made a few notes to keep in mind throughout the process from start to finish:

Possible survey Names / title:
  • Are you Wavy?
  • Feeling Wavy?
  • Feeling Hazy?

Survey format:
  • Digital?: online digital survey, for participants to interact with via an online website/platform such as:

Physical?: book, pamflet, leaflet, single page flyer? - anything more cleaver?
Could combine interactive elements, answers from survey and incorporate into an informative physical book (in answer to the module specifications)

Format of survey and/or book itself could affect/impact the results and information conveyed - in turn affecting my visual response resolved from this survey depending on how I approach and apply my found information and first hand research.

IDEA 1
Initial idea: I could create an illustrated survey "box", "pack", "pamflet" in which participants are asked to take part in a survey, choose answers to questions most relevant to their personals views, experiences of psychoactive substances and their opinion of its impact on creativity and creative culture as a whole. - Directly linking to my CoP2 essay & module themes.

Concept

Format:
  • Survey box
  • Survey pack
  • Survey Baggy
  • Survey book & boardgame

Contents:
  • Concise information/ "about" and "how to" complete my survey printed/illustrated onto a single page flyer.
  • Individual questions aimed at the participant, printed/illustrated onto separate individual "slides" / cards / tiles.

Survey Question Cards:

Each question I want answering, could take the form of separate cards. Each card would display a different answer to be chosen by the participant taking into consideration which answer is most appropriate to them.

> example: (note to participant in rules of survey: "please choose the card with the most                          appropriate answer to you")

Q1: Do you feel psychoactive substances have an impact on creativity?

• Answer card A
  Yes

• Answer card B
  No

• Answer card C
  Don't know / PASS

Q2: To what extent do you feel psychedelic substances have had an impact on our creative culture?

• Answer card A
  Greatly

• Answer card B
  Some

• Answer card C
  None

• Answer card D
  Unsure

- Each question would be printed on all its corresponding answer cards, with all writing appearing on only one side of answer tile/card.
- On the opposite side of the tile/card could be a segment of a what would be a much larger illustrated image (marbled prints & rorschach ink blot test development artwork??).
- Each card would theoretically act as a jigsaw piece. Each answer card for each specific question would have the same segment of artwork printed on the back of the card, however each answers artwork slide/tile would be printed in a different colour scheme (reflective of the answer.)

Answer "key":

• A positive answer (suggestive of a greater psychoactive impact on participant) / survey Q result such as:
"Yes", "Greatly"
=  brightly coloured, striking, bold artwork

• An unsure answer / survey Q result such as:

"Maybe", "Don't know",  "Some"
=  half colour, half black and white artwork

• A more negative answer (suggestive of a lesser psychoactive impact on participant) / survey Q result such as:

"No",  "None",  "Never"
=  black and white colour palette for the artwork

> i.e

• If one participant takes the survey and chooses 1 answer card most relevant to them when answering that question, all chosen answer cards collected would fit together like a jigsaw to create a much larger image (out of the artwork imagery printed on the back of each answer card).

• Depending on how the participant answers, the answer card that they choose will have artwork on the back of that card in a specific palette. (such as they key above)

• For answers conveying the "most" impact such as yes, highly, greatly, always, very etc - the artwork for these answer cards could be in full colour - suggestive of being the most "psychedelic" or the most impacted by the substance.

• For answers conveying the "medium" amount of impact such as some, unsure, dont know or sometimes - the artwork for these answer cards could be completed in a half and half palette (half black and half colour) to show the mid range in response.

• For answers conveying the "least" impact such as no, never, none, - the artwork for these answer cards could be completed in black and white only. This could help convey the participants answer to this question as being the least impacted by psychedelics / the most against psychedelic substances.

• Once all the answer cards have been chosen for each of the questions in the survey by the participant, I can collect them up and once turned over to reveal the artwork on the reverse side - the image and portrait of the participant based on their answers should take shape. Hopefully conveying and portraying the overall impact of psychoactive substances on that particular participant.

• For instance if the participant has had lots of history with a specific substance and feels that psychedelic experience and substance have played a large part in influencing our creative culture....the final image created out of their answer cards would be very colourful and psychedelic.

• If a participant who took part in the survey and answered all of the questions suggestive of not being influenced by these substances or seeing them as being influential in anyway, the participant would have answered and chosen cards form the "least" side of the spectrum (such as no, none, never, etc) therefore these answer cards would mostly consist of black and white artwork. Hopefully illustrating the little impact that psychoactive substances have had on that participant.

• This technique of visualising and interpreting my survey results could just be used for individual participants as explained above - producing a visual portrait of the participant and the impact psychedelics has had on them.

....or this could be rolled out to as many people as possible so that when all of the results/answer cards are collected and artwork arranged, I could then see visually and on a much larger scale, see how much psychedelic substances have impacted all my participants collectively - hopefully being more reflective of broader societies view as a whole. Could do this for specific age ranges, from specific cities, cultures, etc and see any patterns in my findings.

*********************

In summary, the answer cards from all participants would all be joined together to make a much larger jigsaw-like image - hopefully swaying more towards either a fuller in colour image (meaning more people are more positively impacted by psychedelics) or a more black and white image suggestive of the little impact psychedelics has had on the participant, as well as on society and creativity. Either way a clear result from the chosen answer cards when arranged together, would be straightforward to see thanks to the little or high amount of colour appearing in the final image/tiled artwork overall.

Further CoP2 Ideas / practical / survey

OUIL501: Cop2 ideas

For survey:

Roll out to family to get a range of results - interesting!! Any patterns? Correlations between age / gender? Generation?
-Thoughts on the survey from participants including my family ? any notes and suggestions? successful? interesting? etc.
-BLOG THIS / ALL THEIR RESPONSES + thoughts on survey and topic of psychoactive substances and creativity / MY RESULTS + survey results / EMAILS to them / correspondence / whole process etc

Further ideas:
-Could create a digital "click" version for people to participate in online? fb test? survey?
-An animated version which people can view as a repeating gif online? made up of my final artwork pieces in their different colour palettes/tones/repetitions/arrangement of key features / colours. flashing to create an animation. any patterns to how psychedelic the results of t/ experience of the gif - to what i found for each participant in my survey results? are the people who answered more positively in the survey towards psychoactive substance - do their artworks in the gif create a more psychedelic experience when animated? what does this mean?
-does your experience with psychedelics impact your creativity? and vs versa
e.g:
> When repeated and gif played….does the overall composition and sequence when played fast - merge the artwork finals together to create a psychedelic experience?

could test this by collating my final visual results and artworks from my “are you wavy” interactive survey and make the doc in aftereffects. each artwork (made of of the participants individual answer tiles) added as a new frame or layer - one after the other, to be played fast and repeated and manipulated to animate and warm/vortex?

could get all the mid answer participant final survey artworks and animate these independently. Could see how the animated gif results of these compare to the animated gif results of the vibrant more “positive” participant answer finals and tiles and the least/negative participant answer tiled final artworks. any patters? are the vibrant positive participant gifs more psychedelic than the b&w negative participant answer tiled final artworks?

the whole final image/tile for each participant (made up of the 9 (or more if a more complex survey made) answer tiles to the psychoactive questions - could flash in way that made it more or less trip/warp/vortex RESEARCH THIS AND SIMILAR GIFS AND ANIMATIONS _ BLOG THIS AND RESULTS ? LINKS TO VIDS!!)) depending on their results. each tile within the image itself on that layer could also be manipulated in terms of colour depending on the answer tile and how the person answered / its colour/its answer meaning reflected in tone (i.e. more positive towards psychedelics =more vibrant bright tones vs B=W for the negative responses to my survey questions)/its content/aesthetics/detail could be warped to take the shape of a more rorschach - eques compostition/ (what does this mean in terms of their personality and what they would score in a rorschach tests?)
-each tile could act as if on a different level from each other and / or the different levels could animate freely or as a group depending on the common type of participant answer
>(i.e- vibrant foreground “top level/layer of image” could show fast more animated moving elements /flases/ hues/ within the answer tiles that showed a more POSITIVE response (these tiles only on this layer - extract and have on a new layer/tile/frame/layer)
>the next layer down underneath this top vibrant layer could have a layer which showed lesser moving/animated/manipulated details made up of the individual tiled artworks with a half and half pallet from that individual participants final survey artwork taking/showing only the more “unsure” answers to my questions…
>and the bottom layer/frame/slide beneath these top two would be a final background layer / layer showing only the tiles in a b&w palette. the details of these tiles would be animated/slow motion/less/warped/less psychedelic /to reflect results of survey
to reflect results of rorschach imagery should this participant take it/respond to my sillier imagery and artwork test? to rorschach ink blot artwork most reflective of a more “negative” response to the original tests carried out?Explore and refer back to my research and findings about the original tests! reflective of a more negative response to rorschach test as well as the survey results and opinions of substances portrait completed by and made up of the participants and their results to my survey.

do the overall layered/manipulated/animated/GIF versions and generated creative visual experience made up of the survey results for each participant VISUALLY COMMUNICATE / CONVEY ANY CORRELATION / PATTERN to the results generated for their individual survey results and answers :
ie-
DOES A more vibrant artwork tile (to reflect a more positive answer to my survey question put to the participant) within the final survey artwork image for that survey participant (meaning most likely that psychoactive substances have had a greater impact on them and there creativity.) act as a creative device in relation to their other tiles within their image and their tone & connotation to answers) mean / show any conniptions / suggest any link / show that a more positive outlook towards psychoactive substances, their uses, their history, their effect/impact and their potential - determine a more psychedelic animation?

so the more positive towards psychedelics and their potential (as a whole and also more specifically shown in the participants survey answers to the questions more vibrant tiles in artwork — more positive?) the more psychedelic my artwork/animation/gif — made up of the participants final survey artwork visual tiles / whole results - manipulated and warped and animated to show, reflect, convey, explain, manipulate, exaggerate, change and excentuate these results and strengthen the overall message in my animated results and project and portrayal of findings?

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? SHOULD PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCES BE GIVEN A CHANCE AND LAWS CHANGE AND MORE RESEARCH & EXPERIMENTS & EXPERIENCES BE HAD INTO THEIR POTENTIAL ?

_ DO MY RESULTS SHOW THAT THE MAJORITY OF SOCIETY THINK PSYCHOACTIVE SUBSTANCES SHOULD BE GIVEN ANOTHER CHANCE? include as a petition???
OR DO THEY SHOW THAT SOCIETY AND MY PARTICIPANTS DONT KNOW MUCH ABOUT THEM/THEIR EFFECTS/IMPACT/POTENTIAL AND NEED TO BE EDUCATED AT LEAST? -new personal project to do just this and spread the good and true information about psychedelics, the experience and the potential. fuck the pharmaceutical companies and their damage to our wallets and health! applies for below aswel!….>
OR DO MY RESULT SHOW THAT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE ARE HAPPY WITH THE CURRENT EFFECTS /EFFORT/ TAX PAYERS MONEY BEING SPENT / WAR ON DRUGS / CONNOTATIONS OF THIS / ON SOCIETY/ CRIME/ HEALTH/ ECONOMY/ AND FEEL AS IF THEY ARE DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE MADE/REMAIN ILLEGAL?research into this could consist of looking at countries such as portugal and amsterdam and states in the USA where drugs or some drugs (list and research into each individual type) are legal and look at the effects of these laws. effects on population? addiction? economy? jobs? money? poverty? creativity? whats coming out of the scene there? how are people reacting? had crime gone up or down? or people taking more or less drugs? is the drug problem more or less? -what can the rest of the worlds governments learn from this and implement? what does this mean for the future of these substances and laws surrounding them? for research and medicine?

additional question to ask participants in survey:
to follow on from current question: “do you feel as if psychoactive substances deserve more time and research into their potential? (could this be changed to: “do you feel as if we owe it to ourselves, to society and the progression of research, health, science and understanding of nature - to spend more time experiencing, researching into, learning more about and understanding the true potential of psychoactive substances?)….”
-new possible follow on question: “If yes or unsure, what group of psychoactive substances do you feel / would you deem as a priority/ is most important to research into and gain an understanding of first? Deem as having the most positive impact/ potential?
-medical potential?
-scientific?
-creative?
-spiritual?
-our consciousness
-mental health
-physical health?
-social skills?
-overall positive impact on the world and all living things
etc etc etc - tons of separate answers and different colour palettes for artwork tiles in the survey to reflect each answer and wether its a positive or a negative or a neutral response to psychoactive substances and the impact of psychedelic experiences on creativty- to make up the overall final survey artwork/image.
-mini survey in itself? more in-depth than my larger more broad one currently?
>could just word this to include all options as one answer/survey question?

How do the artwork results link to Rorschach (repetition and images seen within)
Could survey and Rorschach tests link in some way? A survey linking questions and opinions to psychoactive substances, psychoactive substance uses / impacts / effects / my survey results, creativity, psychadelic a and psychoactives AND creativity AND personality traits (what the Rorschach test is used for) to personalty traits of that person made up of what they see within their final image made up of the psychedelic answer tilesed artwork?

therefore:>>>

Does how the participants answers to my survey questions on psychoactive substances link to what they see within their artwork created? Is their personality ( conveyed by the results of what they see in the final image) influenced by their varying results tiles making up the original image with the rorschach esq image /artwork on?

for instance: the more positive response/ opinion /view of psychedelics (and their potential inc. their impact, the participants experiences of) (shown and reflected in the artwork results to the survey by the more positive brightly coloured answer tiles)  - the more creative the personality (shown by the kind of things the participants sees within their finished Rorschach - esque "portrait" image made up of their survey answer segmented tiles and the results to the questions asked of it :
What do you see in this image?
> A weird but more creative answer could be that which is not the normal answer for that Rorschach ink blot slid (on average. )

a “normal” more common - LESS PSYCHEDELIC - answer to being asked to look at their rorschach ink blot tests made up of their final answer tiled arrangement following answering my survey questions - should be

could swap and change tones / tiles / results / arrangements / final artworks/rorschach-esque tests and show to various participants to compare between them.
> > i.e. -

do people in general, spot less abnormal imagery within my rorschach slides that have the least colourful / dynamic aesthetic? -each rorschach slide being in the form of artwork made up up a survey participants answer tiles - who answered on the whole as having been least impacted by psychoactive substances?)

>meaning that the less impact of psychedelics on a person - the less creative, colourful, psychedelic, positive rorschach image/slide generated from their survey answers. - meaning that less abnormal imagery is seen in this final image? any correlation?

WORK THIS OUT!!!

remember main Q / AIM:
do psychedelics and our experiences and understanding of them - affect our creativity?
our consciousness?
the way we respond to rorschach tests?
our personalities? (what the rorschach was originally for!)
our ability to see things in a certain way?
our ability to see positive things/negative things/cause us to respond more normally or abnormally to a rorschach ink blot test or my generated tests?
see strange things (boobs) vs expected things (bats/moths)
is it the amount of colour present in the final image / ink blot that is influencing what we are able see / our ink blot responses?

the amount of colour present (that directly links and correlates between the amount a person has been influenced by psychedelics and their opinion/view of them based on the types of answers they gave to my survey questions on the subject)
suggests VISUALLY the impact of psychedelics on that participant.

high impact of substance/more positive answers to survey questions
=
more positively vibrant tiles chosen
=
more vibrant psychedelic tiles present, making up final image/rorschach slide
=
more positive, artistic, psychedelic, bright aesthetic of overall final made up image / artwork / composition
=
shows a more positive portrayal of that participant and their overall more positive view of physchadelics/their impact and opinion of their potential

…… does this mean that another person looking at this final vibrant + positive rorschach slide/tiled survey results…. is more likely to respond strangely to the image/see strange/odd/psychadelic shapes in the vibrant inkblot?

does this show a correlation between colour and consciousness and psychedelics? the more colour in an ink blot the more a person responds strangely / imaginatively to the rorschach and see more strange unusual things within. DOES THIS MEAN MORE COLOUR IS MORE CREATIVE?

any patterns between what they see and what others see when also looking at this slide? collate results

-or does this have no affect on what is seen / deciphered when looking at this slide as part of a roschach-esque test (and compared to other slides of a different conveyed response / opinion?)

breakdown of theory/study:

do people in general

(not just that specific participant and their individual visual rorschach response to their own individual final answers/results/artwork made up of the answer tiles chosen as a result of them partaking in my psychedelic survey)

tend to respond less strangely to / see less psychedelic abnormal imagery / have the least response too /

(such as: strange things, boobs, penus’s etc)

within the rorschach final slide /imagery/rorschach ink blot tests /artwork / finals made up of arranged answer tiles from the survey

made up of answer tiles reflected of a participants survey question results

who answered as having least / shown to be less affected by psychedelics

who tend to see more normal things

((such as: bats, witches, figures, faces, masks, moths, skulls etc - the normal expected answers in a Rorschach ink blot test))

and how i this conveyed / show / interpret / convey / be made clear to the audience

in the visual survey results of that partaker?

(with the help of the overall arrangement of the tiles making up the rorschach artwork itself and the connotations of this and to the results obtained for that specific participant and their artwork result generated

*(i.e.: higher psychedelic impact + more positive response to substances + their potential and answers to my survey questions = more vibrant tiles making up the final image for that participant

——the more of these tiles - the more positively the participant answered - the more overall positive view of psychedelics - the higher impact psychedelics have had on that participant ——

            >VS / separate from<

no psychedelic impact + more negative opinion of physchadelics and their potential + more negative answers to my survey q’s =B+w tiles,

__ the more of these B&W tiles present in the final overall images and rorschach test, the more negatively the participant answered in the survey - the more negative answers therefore the overall predominately colourless aesthetic and arrangement and palette  (making up the individual details/ink blots / rorschach image / slide subject) would show / convey the lesser/ least impact of psychedelics on that participant and the view they have on the substances

        >VS / separate from / separate to<

a medium psychedelic impact + more neutral outlook / unsure of / medium opinion of psychedelics and their potential = half and half coloured tiles

____ the more of these mid tiles/ 2 toned tiles (half and half palette in artwork) representing the participants survey answers with a more neutral/un-bias/unsure response to my survey questions on psychedelics - —the more neutrally coloured the overall final artwork / rorschach slide and aesthetic will look to other participants - therefore the participant answered more questions neutrally overall conveying their more neutral opinion of psychedelics on the whole.

that this and other participants are looking at. (made up of tiles reflective of answers made by a participant who answered with the least psychedelic impact) with
